Obvious question: is he going to do this in character? If not, is he retiring the character? If he retires the character, who becomes the next official fake right wingnut of Comedy Central?

I am also hoping that he doesn't retire his character. The last thing television needs is yet another safe, non-offensive, stale late night variety show. The only thing that could possibly be worse would be hearing that Colbert was leaving to star in some new cop drama on CBS.
From what I heard, no. It's a change, to be sure, but I'm interested in seeing what the guy can do when he's no longer playing his character.

I've seen occasional interviews with him out of character. There's even one of him out of character interviewing Neil deGrasse Tyson. I'm sure he'll be fine, but I will miss the character.

My concern is also that Stephen Colbert is playing a character on his TV show. I've never seen him do any other acts. I would hate to think he's doing the same character in the new job.

Well to be fair, Limbaugh is a clown, and nothing he says should be taken seriously.
Everything Rush Limbaugh sees in the world is a strain on his cardiovascular system. How is it that he is even alive?
