Polls of the Presidential Race

...
Presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden has opened up a 13-point lead over President Trump in the key battleground state of Florida, according to a new poll
The former vice president leads Trump 51 percent to 38 percent in the latest Quinnipiac poll released Thursday, a sharp increase since Florida voters were last surveyed by the pollster in April, when Biden led Trump 46 percent to 42 percent.
Trump narrowly won Florida and its 29 electoral votes in 2016, edging out then-Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton by just over 1 percentage point.

The group changed its ratings in five key races.

Almost 100 Days Out, Democrats Are Favored to Take Back the Senate | The Cook Political Report

This would be so very, very good if the GOP lost the Senate. Not to mention Moscow Mitch biting the dirt hard.

No wonder Dems are pushing for postal voting...............................................https://today.yougov.com/topics/pol...s/2020/07/17/voting-candidate-preference-poll

Voters who prefer vote-by-mail support Joe Biden while those who prefer in-person voting support Donald Trump

Do you know who else prefers vote-by-mail? These people:

Donald Trump
Melania Trump
Ivanka Trump
Jared Kushner
Mike Pence
Karen Pence
Kayleigh McEnany
Brad Parscale
Ronna McDaniel
Wilbur Ross
Stephanie Grisham
Mark Esper
Bill Barr
Alex Azar
Betsy DeVos
Larry Kudlow
Nick Ayers
Sonny Perdue
Kellyanne Conway
Bill Stepien
Michael Glassner
The US Military

That's a nice list. I suspect some on the list prefer Biden over Trump as well.

In nearly every swing state at this point, Biden’s outperforming Obama and Clinton - The Washington Post
It seems as though Trump is claiming that, since his speech at Mount Rushmore on July 3, the polls have turned against him — a function, he says, of their being fake. The media, he says, is making up fake polls because — it’s mad? It’s trying to suppress the vote, since voters apparently decided to vote or not depending on what polls four months before the election say? It’s not clear. Beyond the through line, of course: The polls aren’t great and that’s because of an unidentified conspiracy and that’s that.

...
While Trump and his allies have consistently raised his unexpected victory in 2016 as a reason to dismiss what the polls say, highlighting national polling pointing to a Clinton win in particular, 2020 doesn’t look like 2016 at this point. Biden’s not only outperforming where Clinton was at the end of the election and relative to where she was at the same point in the race — he’s also outperforming where Barack Obama was nationally and in key swing states in 2008 and 2012.
Biden has been doing at least as well as previous Democrats, if not better: AZ, FL, GA, MI, NV, NH, NC, PA, TX, WI -- he's been polling in the majority range in all of these states but GA and TX, and it now looks like a tossup in TX. So the "Blue Wall" is likely to hold this time. If it becomes a major rout, then this is likely to help Democrats in close downballot races, giving the Democrats a chance to take over the Senate and to increase their House majority.

No doubt. I just posted the link that suggests Democrats would much rather prefer the postal vote rather than attending a polling station as it favours their party.

So you just posted a link, but don't have an opinion on it. Do you have an opinion on postal votes or are you just posting shit to see what sticks on the fan again?

My opinion doesn't matter one iota. I'm just stating a fact. Postal, or absentee voting, sometimes accounts for up to 20% of total voting here in AU, and it generally favours a sitting member. But voting here is compulsory. Otherwise a small fine of around $20-40 is issued for failing to vote unless one has a valid reason why he/she failed to vote.

With COVID-19 running rampant in the US, postal voting is very likely the only alternative to many US voters come November.

Isn't it rather telling that the more votes that are actually cast the less likely it is that Republicans will remain in power?

It's not telling anyone anything that everybody doesn't already know.
The amazing thing is the persistence of the falsehood that angelo is (as usual) trying to purvey here. The fact is that Republicans' opposition to mail-in voting is simply another irrational kneejerk reaction that occurs any time voting becomes more accessible to or easier for citizens.

There Is No Evidence That Voting By Mail Gives One Party An Advantage

... but all Republicans know is that they have zero chance if the will of American citizens actually comes into force. They need their minority to prevail by hook or crook. And they have no hook, so...

Thanks for that link. Hadn't seen that one yet. Since I've been able to vote by mail in two different states (WA and UT) since 2004 I haven't missed a single election cycle regardless of how small/local the race was. Utah, where I currently am, is all vote-by-mail but still votes conservative. However, UT seems to be on the sane end of the conservative spectrum.

There is a lot to disprove/debunk/argue here so let's break it apart piece by piece:

My opinion doesn't matter one iota

Then why are you constantly talking about it? I am currently fucking someone who has family in the US and that is why I have a vested interest in their elections, but why you are so passionate is fucking beyond me.

I'm just stating a fact.

Excellent. Normally you just copy and paste wall of text, throw "clever insults" at US politicians who have the temerity of disagreeing with you or just post random links and simply fuck off without clarification. I look forward to the facts you are about to provide.

*sigh*

1. Australia is not America.
2. Not only did you not provide and facts about the US Presidential Process, you didn't provide any facts about Australia. All you have is an opinion. Just so you know, it isn't worth much.

But voting here is compulsory.

Yes, I know. We'll get back to that.

Otherwise a small fine of around $20-40 is issued for failing to vote unless one has a valid reason why he/she failed to vote.
It's $55. Outside your margin for error.

And when you vote in Australia, you don't vote who is Prime Minister

And you don't vote for who is Head of State of Australia either. You might want to stick with what you are best at; which is telling a bunch of Americans how their Electoral College System works. You're an expert, apparently.

With COVID-19 running rampant in the US, postal voting is very likely the only alternative to many US voters come November.

This is probably the most accurate thing you have posted...well...ever, but clearly you expect people to be outraged by this. And we've touched on this subject before. Basically, your argument doesn't have a leg to stand on. Give more people the ability to make their vote matter, and more people are going to vote. If more people are given the opportunity to vote, then the Republican Party is going to be extinct. Even you are more leftist than Bernie Sanders as was proven here.

And yet you are still going to be upset about this, and make derogatory remarks about "Groper Joe" without ever showing some balls and having an opinion yourself. My question is why? Or is it simply monkey ======> shit =======> fan?

They have known this for a very long time

If only they got the idea that maybe they should actually help people to increase the votes they get, rather than just suppress those that wont vote for them.

since I moved to Colorado (a mail-in state for several years now) I have also not missed a vote... the ballot literally comes to my door for every single election (some of them I have to lookup what the elected official's job even is!). "Election Day" is a deadline... not a mad rush for only those able to to take off of work that exact day and stand in line... you can mail in your vote anytime for like 2 weeks up to the deadline.
In a minor election a few months ago, I screwed up my own signature with a spastic move on my part. I received a letter 3 days later from the county clerks office (I think that is where it was from) asking me to confirm I sent in a ballot because my signature looked funny. I confirmed and that was it.

IT WORKS PERFECTLY. which, as others have been correctly saying, is exactly what the republicans NEED to prevent to have any chance for their minority party to stay powerful.

Found this on postal voting. It it's correct, it does favour the Democratic party. https://www.brookings.edu/policy202...ail-work-and-does-it-increase-election-fraud/

You quoted an entire wall of text without being specific and then just posted a link and fucked off. I guess it's fair to say you don't have an opinion on anything do you? Certainly not something that requires some balls and conviction at least.

Fair enough.

That article says it all doesn't it? What could I possibly add that changes the facts!
