The beginning of the gnashing will likely surround the Jane Foster -> Lady Thor film. For whatever reason, Thor isn't worthy of the hammer... so his on again - off again girlfriend (?) and globally recognized astrophysicist, Jane Foster will make with some Hammer Time. This will surround a comic line that is relatively new, but certainly open to make some people upset because a female will be a main protagonist, also that she will be Thor... although she won't actually be Thor, she'll be playing a new character... but these sorts of nuanced points get lost on the rabid. Same director from Ragnorak, so I'm very hopeful... if not wondering how they manage to shift Thor into an unworthy guy and why Jane Foster is back in the fold seeing she's been out of it for several years... even noting in Ragnorak that she had dumped Thor.

Black Widow is going to get a film. This will likely make even the most rabid of people happy, as they typically complain, 'We didn't want Captain Marvel... she's "boring", we want a Black Widow film.'

Doctor Strange will have a new film which might have no one complain.

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings is getting a movie. I know nothing about it, but based on its title, I'm already certain the movie will do sub Ant-man numbers.

Mahershala Ali will take the lead role as Blade. Hard to gauge the white male anger of recasting a black man as a black man, because they might demand more whiteness to make up for the recent loss of white lead.

It might not be Thor becoming unworthy. Someone else can hold the hammer even when he is still worthy. Also the hammer was destroyed in Ragnarok. So it might be another timeline Jane, or the hammer gets remade, or somehow Odin's spell for worthiness got built into Stormbringer. Going to need some explaining whatever path they have for Jane to pick it up.

Shang-Chi will do well in China. Don't know about here, but even Marvel's bad movies have been at least ok. (I liked Ant-man)

Scarlet Witch will be in Dr. Strange. Shouldn't cause complaints, but some people are so easily set off.

Of course if you want more disgruntled while man anger you got the TV shows, like Falcon & Winter Soldier.

This one surprised me more than anything, as Natalie Portman had previously stated that she was done with the MCU. I thought the fact that she was the only actor they could not get to come back in for Endgame reshoots kind of sealed that deal. I guess putting her in the lead role changed her mind. In the comics, the title of Thor went with the hammer, and when he was no longer worthy the previous Thor was referred to as "Odinson". Not sure how they will handle it in the movie. The only problem I really have with it is that they have already done an unworthy Thor in the first Thor movie, so this seems like a bit of a rehash. Of course, with Taika Waititi directing it I have high hopes.

Given how Black Widow ended up in Endgame, word on the street is that this will introduce Yelina Belova as Black Widow. She was a clone of Natasha in the comics, so that explains how ScarJo will still be in the lead.

I suppose with the time meddling in End Game allows for these changes.

Yes. Me. I'm triggered. You can't see her exposed cleavage. Don't even start me on the absence of a visible camel toe. I mean what is even supposed to be the point of giving women these roles in the first place if they don't wear very revealing clothing?

I feel angry, cheated and oppressed.

OK, she's not even wearing a bikini. How can she fight? Does she even have high heels on? It would be nice if we could get a bit of realism into this comic book movie about Viking storybook characters.

Also yes, there is no worthiness requirement for holding Stormbringer. That was a spell which Odin specifically cast on Mjolnir.

Do we really need a new Blade movie, though? I thought the whole Vampire thing was played out and nobody's going to be able to pull that character off as well as Wesley Snipes did. Say what you will about the man's acting talents, but he was born for that role.

Yea, Snipes was excellent in the role. They could techinically retroactively make it part of the MCU, but Disney wouldn't have the rights to it I think.

Besides, they need to bring Blade back to clear out the infestation of the 'sparkley' kind of vampires.

No.
Not actually sparkly... A bunch of wannabes, using glitter makeup to try to convince people they're sparkly.
Blade, Dracula, and Lestat work together to root out the idiots...

How does she get super powers? Thor is a god.

Captain America was also of super strength quality.

Sure, the hammer can make you do stuff, but what else gets her to super hero status?

Do you remember that for tge longest time, Thor had a crippled human alter ego, Dr. Blake?
Struck his cane on the ground and Bkake became suffused with godstuff, and almighty Thor particles?
She'll probably do something like thast, becoming superhuman, but with the girlgodstuff being on loan... Or maybe she says 'shazam!'

"Whosoever holds this hammer, if he be worthy, shall possess the power of Thor."
that is the enchantment on mjolnir, so jane foster just needs to be "worthy" to possess the power of thor, which is... all the things.

technically it triggers me because natalie portman is a horrendous actress and i find it unfortunate that i'll be saddled with watching her in a movie.

I wouldn't go so far as to say horrendous (she was good in Garden State and Annihilation), but I just don't see how she has the physicality to play a thunder god. Maybe she's going to undergo some massive super-hero training regimen?

Of course if you want more disgruntled while man anger you got the TV shows, like Falcon & Winter Soldier.

Falcon is about a black superhero who took a white superheroes' job by accepting Captain America's shield. Expect outrage over this blatent Hollywood leftist display of pandering towards blacks.

If little mermaid, 007, Spider Man, Captain America etc. etc. can be recast as black, why not a white Blade?
Saying these changes should only go one way is racist.

So any word on whether Black Widow is post End Game, because I think she is alive. The one thing we don't need is another origin story.

The power of the hammer yes, but Ragnorak made it is explicitly clear that the hammer was not the source of his power (notice the bold!). Granted, it is a comic book movie, things can shift.

yes there is word, and no it isn't - it's post civil war, pre infinity war.

My understanding is that it is post Endgame, and that it introduces Yelena Belova as Black Widow. Yelena is a clone of Natasha Romanov, which explains ScarJo retaining the role post Endgame.
