She could offer an award to find the guy who shot the dog walker. That she values her dogs over human life definitely makes her woke.
Dunno about that, a lot of people value an animal’s life over human life or as being equal. Some people are just over the top about it.
But there is no reason to think on the basis of her actions as described here that she values the lives of her dogs more than the life of the dog walker, only that she values the lives of her dogs more than she values punishment of those who unjustly wounded the dog walker. If the dog walker had been kidnapped and the dogs shot while trying to protect him, would she not have offered a reward for the safe liberation of the man? We don't know that.
Apart from that, imagine how a dog owner feels if they are informed their dog was killed in a car crash vs. how they feel if they read in the newspaper that there was a plane crash with, say, 200 dead in a distant country. Of course, that does not mean that given the choice, they would save their dog over those people. They wouldn't. So, things are more complicated; when it's their choice, there are moral obligations involved, the lives of those humans come to the forefront, etc.; but in general, the above tells me that they value their dog more than the strangers where they are not involved. And that is unsurprising, given that humans are social animals. This case is different, of course, as she knows the dog walker, but I mean in general valuing one's own dogs more is common human behavior.
