How should west respond to Russian invasion of Ukraine?

 
 
 
Great news! Russia is promising written (not oral) but written non aggression guaranties to EU and Nato that it won't attack Nato countries after it destroys Ukraine!!


Jesus Christ. How much do you think a written guaranty is from the Russians?
 
BRUSSELS, Dec 12 (Reuters) The EU deep freezes Russian assets. No more voting every six months to refreeze. Russia cannot get it back until they fix what they’ve broken. So Russia isn’t getting it back. This will ease Belgium’s concerns over extending loans to Ukraine. There’s another meeting on the 18th to finalize the loan and guarantee Belgium would not be left holding the bag should there ever be a successful court challenge by Russia. But it is expected Ukraine will be fully funded for 2026 and 2027.
Russia sued in Russian court.

I think that it's time to stop dicking around with this. I don't see any chance of a reasonable peace with Russia. Ukraine needs these funds to finance their defense of Ukraine. I'm sure that my young friend barbos agrees that it is poetically appropriate that Ukraine will use Russian funds to defend against Russian troops!

Of course there isn't any chance. We know this. We've all known this. Unfortunately the US is largely out of the picture when it comes to any substantive solution to the Russia problem. It's on Europe for now. Peace talks with Russia. The very statement is ridiculous. It's a waste of time and I'm glad Europe knows this and moved right along with securing Ukraine's financial future. They shouldn't pause a thing, weapons or cash in hopes of making peace with Russia.
