Recently I heard someone describe how they loved a movie so much that they watched it twice the same day. I cannot recall ever watching a movie 2x in 1 day. Even an episode of a TV show. Have you ever done that?

When I was a kid I watched "Hatari!" at least twice in a day...

My mom recalled that she was sick and in bed one day when she watched Pretty Woman for the 1st time. She loved it so much that she ended up watching it a total of 3x in a single day. It is still her favorite movie.

It was a pretty common thing to do when I was a kid. I don't know that it was because the movie was so great, but that we thought we were "sticking to the man" by getting two viewings for the price of one, and sorta being bad boys. Plus, we probably didn't have any thing much else to do that day. I grew up in a small town, and that's the sort of thing you do in such places.

I also did this as a kid a lot. Sometimes I could watch the same stupid movie 3 or 4 times on VHS, especially if I brought different friends to watch it with me each time. Later in life, when I was a young whippersnapper I would rent DVDs which I'd watch twice: first a regular viewing, then with commentary.

Now as an adult, I don't see the point anymore. I tend to watch almost everything at 1.5x speed.

I’m assuming this is if you weren’t a parent in the 80s and had a Disney VHS movie. I remember my very young nieces being capable of this back then.

Me? No. The most often would be multiple times during a VHS rental.

Yeah, my son would watch Toy Story, immediately hit Rewind on the VCR, and watch it again.

He was two years old at the time, but still.

I watched Atomic Blonde twice back to back, but it wasn't in the same day. I was just so captivated by the fight scene in the second act I had to watch it again. Plus most spy movies baffle me on first viewing.

I did this a lot when younger, especially when HBo would have the same movie on twice a day, I must have watcher Poltergeist a dozen times in a month.

Now I'll occasionally rewatch a TV episode twice in a day, especially if it's one I really like.
