This election is lolz.

I lost it a bit when Trayvon Martin's mom said, "I am an unwilling participant in this movement. I would not have signed up for this. None of us would have."

Very sad and powerful.

Sorry, but from a pragmatic point of view, having them up there was fucking stupid. Especially with the recent spate of murdered cops. That stunt certainly didn't garner them any more votes than they would have gotten from the same demographic, but it's a pretty good bet they lost some from others. Thankfully this latest Trump-Russian thing has diverted attention.

They've also had police up there. So do the math on that.

First of all, if anyone has a problem with the message that police and communities need to work together to stop the killings, then those people were never going to vote for HRC anyway.

Second, two of the three women who spoke did not lose their sons to police violence. Trayvon Martin and Jordan Davis were murdered by assholes with guns.

Please don't let the Derecs in our country frame the narrative.

I hear ya', but I feel like this is a time where winning is the only thing that matters, regardless of how it gets done. I've said it before, but I'll say it again, I am genuinely afraid of a Donald Trump Presidency. The SCOTUS appointments are huge thing for me professionally, but it's gone well beyond that now. I am really scared for what day to day life could become if Trump wins this thing.

Among his most ardent supporters are cop and military fetishists. I come from a conservative town and a lot of people I know are practically in worship-mode for the cops right now. So the problem with police overreaction and brutality is going to get a lot worse, except it's going to be done with the blessing of the President of the United States.

And what if he orders some crazy military action? Will our generals have the gumption to tell him no? If they refuse him, we have a coup on our hands. A fucking coup in the United States. If they obey him, then what? Mushroom clouds? It's not just not-impossible, it suddenly becomes a real possibility. Massive global destabilization is also in the cards.

It's been a long road to recovery following Bush/Cheney. We might never recover from a Trump administration and because of that, absolutely everything must be utilized to make sure it doesn't happen. And if that includes foregoing a few idealistic gestures, it's a small price to pay. We can have that conversation for another four years if Hillary wins. If she doesn't the conversation is over.

I hope Bernie gets to speak every night. Watching libs get cucked by their hero never gets old! :hysterical:

If having the mothers on stage is gonna make the difference for Trump, then the nation deserves it.

I have a coworker who is incensed that some fast food workers are refusing to serve cops.
Of course, the same coworker thinks it's a fundamental right that pharmacists don't have to serve women seeking birth control, or women having an abortion.
It is, to him, sacrosanct that Christain businessmen can refuse to have any dealings with gay customers.
He thinks is should be up to the businessman whether or not his building is compliant with disability codes.

If someone doesn't want to associate with people based on their religion, sexuality, or whether they stepped on an IED in Iraq, he's okay with that. He relishes it. They don't even need a reason that makes logical sense to an objective witness. God, Bible, Money, 'prosthetics wig me out,' 'sex is bad,' even 'i hate gays on Thursdays,' all that's okay as a basis for discrimination. But discriminating against cops because of a perception of bias is Unamerican.

He refuses to see any hypocrisy in his position...

Bloomberg kinda ripped Trump a new one.

Not the greatest public speaker, but a fellow (and better) businessman and billionaire.

No one saw Joe Biden's great speech? I thought it was a barn burner...

Did he make another gaffe and accidentally endorse Trump?

Fucking Biden.

I've never liked Biden BUT I hey, he made one of the best speech's in the convention. Very effective and popular with the crowd. Kaine, on the other hand, is now boring them to death - bad news for Dems in the VP debates.

Kaine started slow, but he's picking it up well, especially with his Trump bashing. That's quite good.

Are you kidding? He sounds like Ned Flanders or the Vice Chair of your local chamber of commerce...he's at least hitting on Trump's misdeeds. "How about this"...such weak phrasing.

The best speech's were from the old guard: Bill, Michelle, and Barrack. The farm team does not look good.

Don't worry. Bill is Secretary of State and Obama is on the Supreme Court. Clinton has a competent team around her and won't be like Trump who just kind of does things on his own by being generically great.
