I read my own posts again and found that I made no defenses of Hitler. All I saw was you giving me credit for your defense of your idol.

Since I did not say it was in your post, your response is, at best, the result of more sloppy reading and reasoning. In 349, Ford disagreed with your claim that humbleman made a defense of Hitler. In post 350 I replied

Clearly Jason Harvesdancer has thought long and hard evaluating defenses of his man Hitler. I think we should defer to his expert judgment on this issue.

So I was agreeing with you.

As to the rest of your denials and straw men they are unconvincing for the following reasons. Underseer made no defense of Hitler – he made a tongue in cheek sarcastic remark. Your persistent insistence that he did make a defense means the you are either trolling or that tongue in cheek remarks must be taken seriously. Since you would not troll, that means tongue in cheek remarks are taken seriously. Which means your alleged tongue in cheek defense of your man Stalin must be taken seriously. That defense of your man Stalin (that he killed more communists than Hitler) can also be used as a defense of Hitler. So, using your reasoning, whether you like it or not, you made a tacit defense of Hitler.

As to your reference to “your man Hitler”, it can be taken to mean that Hitler is my idol, or as an insult or that you have some other unknown meaning. Since I have denied that Hitler is my idol, and since I have said a number of times in post in which you have participated that I have relatives who were murdered by the Nazis because they were jews. Obviously, you would not use as an insult to flame me and since there is no evidence that I have any views similar to Nazis nor have I expressed any admiration for Hitler ever, it must be that “your man Hitler” is simply some sort of stupid emphasis that makes it easier for you to communicate, because Hitler is no more my idol or "man than Hitler is your idol or man.

Yes, I despite the schoolyard this thread turned into later downstream, I find the intellectual exercise of trying to defend somebody like Hitler to be interesting. Its a challenge and it can be eye opening. What if anything can be said in a person's defence when they do such evil?
