After having an absurd argument with my Mom about how a lower bed is NOT being easier to get off of, it has occurred to me that I'm not gifted at convincing the irrational of much. I really need to stop.

As long as you are OK with being prone on the floor once you are off of it. If your desired end-point includes 'standing up', it may be a different story, but just getting off of a bed is easier if it is low - you can just roll off.

For the US, it has been a rather quite hurricane season. However, there is a potential historic event for Jamaica. The Caribbean isn't unaware of rain, nor are tropical events foreign to them. Tropical Storm Melissa, however, might lead to a historical event for Jamaica. The storm is progged to move slowly towards the island and is forecast to blow up in intensity. The current atmosphere dynamics is making the forecast difficult, but at the moment, the track immediately south of the island, just off the coast, for at least 24 hours.

Jamaica has a high bar for rain to be a record. However, if this holds to the track and intensity, this could break it. The wind field could also cause problems.

Jamaica and Haiti are looking to go through some rough weather. Jamaica will have a likely Cat 5 floating just south. Four day rain totals of 20-30 inches across half the nation.

Additionally, the mountainous terrain will see the higher winds that come with the higher elevation. Prog'd to hit Cuba as a Cat 3. Then the Bahamas and Bermuda as a hurricane.

Well, I looked up her name and there are 6 other Republicans running in the primary election along with 5 Dems. The woman has a Phd, which is more evidence that having lots of formal education, aka letters after your name doesn't necessarily equate with intelligence. I don't even know where her district is, but I don't think it's near my conservative district. But, if everyone would vote in my district, we might be able to get a moderate Dem elected. As the late Judy Tenuta used to say in her comedy routines, "It could happen". Okay, back to discussing the perfect weather in Santa Monica.

Well, she did get her Phd from a conservative Christian college, so there is that. Oddly enough the place is accredited. Imagine that!

I looked up the location of her district. It's along most of coastal Georgia, but it does include a lot of rural areas as well. I wonder if she'll change her mind if the coastal climate changes. Nah. She'll just blame it on the libs. After all Democrats have the power to change the weather

We used to vacation in the Outer Banks in NC. It used to be a lovely place but over the past few years, homes have been literally falling into the sea. Hmmm. I wonder why. Probably the Democrats caused it.
