Unfortunately this seems to be the MO for too many transgender supporters: simply accuse those critical of transgender ideology of being transphobic.

I know in the US there is all kinds of irrational hatred of anything that is not the norm. Trans people face all kinds of hatred and oppression from ignorant bigots.

Many Americans are very stupid and superstitious. The US is a Christian fundamentalist shit-hole.

Morality is as simple as live and let live. If there is somebody harmed then we can talk about immorality.

I've no problem with a male choosing to take on the gender roles traditionally associated with females. Nor do I have a problem with a female doing the same. I do have a problem with the idea that it is those gender roles that make a person a 'real man' or a 'real woman'.

If females are forced to compete against males or if males are placed in prisons built for women, then I do think we should all be concerned about that.

Based on your postings, I'd say we disagree over 95% of the time on current political issues. But we do agree on how crazy and wrongheaded gender ideology is.

It is a good thing that many of the feminists in Britain are a lot more sensible than their American cousins.

Some interesting thoughts. Am not sure it is all that complicated as long as one realizes that humans are a sexually dimorphic species and that gender is a social construct.
It is not a bad thing for our society to allow more freedom in gender expression. It only becomes pernicious when it leads us to forget the biological facts of sex and situate gender over sex.
