I'd be interested to know about those scenarios. And if you can, as I said before, I would love to hear how taking that life in those circumstances could possibly advance your wish to die One that your argument brought to me was someone who prevents a bridge jumping. You end his life for the...

Nah, if you have the capacity to kill someone, and you want to die ... do I have to spell it out?

    Things that make you laugh...

Yeah, we don't do any of that here. Pumpkins are for roasting. :) With lamb, or beef or chicken or pork, and potato and parsnip. Damn! It's 5 days 'til Sunday and I want Sunday lunch NOW. :D Pi.

    Things that make you laugh...

Is that a pumpkin pie? I've heard of them but never seen one.

I realise you are making a highly theoretical argument but it is a false equivalency. In practical terms, killing the politician who opposes legislation, the doctor who won't give you extra morphine or the loved one who won't do what you need them to do, in order to die, doesn't advance your aim...

No question, but not an offence punishable by death. Of the 3 or 4 groups that are likely to try to prevent an earnestly desired death, the only one I could think of that wasn't well intentioned is the busy-body religious kind. And even then you could argue good intentions. As tempting as it...

What TV are you watching and how would you rate it? [Revive from FRDB]

That was funny, but it's a direct descendant of Dara O'Briain's Mock the Week, which was funnier.

    More celebrities passing

Yeah. Relatively healthy, active for age, most of your marbles still rolling freely - gone. That's unexpected. That's what I want, too. Expected. Cancer, Parkinson's, MND, strokes, heart conditions, a whole bunch of deteriorations that make your life miserable, regardless of age. I know a...

OOC Wingwalking used to mean something different.

    What are you reading?

I didn't like The Da Vinci Code so I wasn't optimistic when a mate told me I HAD to read origins by the same author. I was wrong. Enjoying it.

What TV are you watching and how would you rate it? [Revive from FRDB]

Have been bingeing Firefly for the last few days. Then I'll binge Hustle.

    Minions

Very nice and accurate list - except that drudges are always the bottom of the barrel. You would have realised that if you hadn't been in poor health.

    Internal monologue?

I came across this when i read a book that was written with various Irish idioms and i heard the whole book in my Irish friend's voice.

    Things that make you laugh...

You do realise that some men have no idea that they have fathered a child, where most women figure out that they are a mother.

    Thank you. I needed that.

I don't know the show but I love your review.

    What Are You Eating Today?

I accept that I will die of a stroke or cholesterol poisoning. If you stir some rice into the gunk left in the pan after you cook spicy Italian sausages it makes the BEST base for fried rice. I will die content.

Which movie did you watch today and how would you rate it?

Emilia Perez 8/10. If they had tried to avoid all the criticisms it would just have been criticised for going in the other direction. (And would have been a different film.) Original take on the concept of the musical and talks about some things that could stand some air. The Mule. 7/10...

    What are you reading?

Taking notes ^^^ In the library the other day a woman was returning a book and said to the librarian "This is the best book I've ever read." I was out of my seat and had the book before it could get to the restock shelf. 100 Years of Betty, Debra Oswald, isn't the best book I've ever read...

What TV are you watching and how would you rate it? [Revive from FRDB]

Thanks for the reminder. I have series 1 & 2 of Northern Exposure on DVD and it would be worth a revisit, for the reasons you give. I watched a little of Snowpiercer. I can't come at many, many aspects of the basic premise. Once you think that a perpetually moving train isn't the answer to...
