Well... it's Trump... again. #47, here we go.

Businesses can claim refunds starting Monday for Trump tariffs declared unconstitutional
A refund system for businesses that paid tariffs which the U.S. Supreme Court ruled President Donald Trump imposed without the constitutional authority to do so is scheduled to launch Monday.
Monday for them.
It’s the first step in a complicated process that also might eventually lead to refunds for consumers who were billed for some or all of the tariffs on products shipped to them from outside the United States.
Eventually for you.
not obligated to share the proceeds with customers. However, class-action lawsuits that aim to force companies, ranging from Costco to Ray-Ban maker Essilor Luxottica, to reimburse shoppers are winding their way through the U.S. legal system.
Winding their way. As in meandering. Sinuous. Circuitous.

They'll get refunds. You'll get price stickiness, also known as nominal rigidity. That's where higher prices are shoved up your ass and you just take it.
Perhaps one day money created from the ether will be handed out to the likes of you. Or at least they'll talk about it for awhile. Bring it up during campaign season.

I’m still waiting for this year’s federal income tax refund that I filed electronically in February. Never took longer than 4 weeks under Biden. Wonder how long the wait and the size of the fraud will be.

I think since Trump is personally responsible for this blatant unconstitutional theft, he should be personally responsible for restitution.

Stephen Miller and the cabal are busy draining federal monies from every accessible source, to fatten up their Caribbean island accounts.
The scale of theft is off the charts. Nobody steals more than Trump.

Oh boy, does this get good. Trump wants companies to not ask for Tariff Refunds. JFC!

President Donald Trump said he’d remember companies that decline to seek refunds on duties paid after the Supreme Court struck down a large swath of his tariffs.

“It’s brilliant if they don’t do that,” Trump said Tuesday on CNBC in response to a question about whether companies such as Amazon.com Inc. and Apple Inc. should request refunds on duties that have now been deemed unlawful. “If they don’t do that, I’ll remember them.”

Ok, so, good deal for us, I suppose, since we paid tariffs recently... But they worded the article in such a way to imply businesses that charged fees based on tariffs will be hit with some expectation to reimburse them.

I know a few such companies and it will hurt them quite badly if they are expected to do so, because I doubt every business that did is going to set that aside.

We didn't charge fees because we let it hit our bottom line. We're where the buck stops, there, so we're getting a bunch of money back; we always planned our price point around where it landed.

We're due roughly a quarter of our investment I think? Maybe as much as a flat third, depending on whether we were in the 50% group in the first import; but we have two separate claims.

You can be sure as shit we're getting our money back.

White House Leak Reveals Trump Booted From Briefing After Hours-Long Freakout - Daily Beast

Donald Trump, 79, reportedly threw such a tantrum during a fraught rescue operation in Iran that his aides banished him from the room as they were briefed.

Senior administration officials told Rupert Murdoch’s Wall Street Journal that the commander-in-chief went into a frenzied state upon learning two airmen were missing when their fighter jet was downed in Iran.

His hours-long tirade became such a hindrance that aides barred him from the room handling the crisis, opting instead to brief him at intervals, officials revealed to the Journal.

Before the airmen went missing, the president was already fixated on avoiding a repeat of the 1979 Iran Hostage Crisis—and the failed rescue mission under former President Jimmy Carter that helped sink his reelection bid.

“If you look at what happened with Jimmy Carter…with the helicopters and the hostages, it cost them the election,” Trump said in March, according to the Journal. “What a mess.”
Not surprising. Of. Purse he doesn’t want to realize he cannot be re-elected but that’s also not good for the grift…

Re: Iran hostage crisis. Yes, that worked exactly as planned.

Interestingly, we made a couple of purchases from relatively local businesses that imported from China, and they itemized how much of the total was due to tariffs. Which I appreciated: it’s good to let customers know directly what a deranged POTUS is doing to their pocketbook.

1: Would Trump not look to get his own money back if someone illegally took his money?
And trying a bit of extortion on these companies

2: So he's admitting that it is people and companies in the US who pay the cost of his tariffs.

Turmp is shit for brains

Well, first consider what the concept of "lunch" or "brek" or "din-din" means to a guy whose social posts are stamped 1 a.m., 2 a.m., 3 a.m., and not infrequently, 4 a.m. Here's how I picture the President's Daily Diary for a given day:

Midnight - Got early start on day -- called Vance, screamed.
12:20 - Post image of self as Mother Teresa
12:25 - Large strawberry shake + fries
12:32 - Post that I know more about God than Pope (duh), post love statement from Ted Nugent, post vid of zombie Robert Muller getting shot in head
12:35 - theater size box Jujyfruit
12:40 - Watch Tivo of Kimmel, post reaction, post vid of me flying plane and carpet-shitting on Kimmel audience
12:43 - Diareah or however you spell
12:47 - Melania in OO -- do I have her panties -- yes, duh -- can she have them -- no, not while I'm still up eating
12:50 - Call Ted Nugent, laugh, talk bow hunting
12:55 - Call Bibi, good call, good advice, note: slow to settle with I.
1:50 - Woke up from nap. Call maid to wipe off desk top. Almond Snickers.
2:10 - Diareah, major
2:25 - Sent Melania's panties upstairs via courier; now in Tranquility pull ups.
2:35 - Called Leavitt, screamed. Called Stallone, no answer
2:40 - Big Mac + fries + super chugger Diet Coke, cake, Jujyfruits
3:30 - Woke up from nap, too late to hit shitter. Called maid, no answer, finally got groundskeeper.
3:55 - Carpet rolled up for night.
4:00 - Blueberry hotcakes + 3 sausage patty + coffee + Zagnut, goddamn they are good
4:10 - Second Zagnut
4:15 - Diahhreeah, or whatever. New Tranquility.
4:20 - Eric on phone, bitcoin $$$$$ is fucking huge
4:30 - Read Bible (as if.) -- prank called Hakeem, but he knew it was me.
4:45 - Diahreea, called RFK for med advice, he advised buttermilk (raw) and celery. What a kook
4:50 - Wake up call for noon. Another night of running the country like no other Pres could dream of. Fuck, I rule

Its 12:14pm in Melbourne, Australia. I do hope I can remember what I had for lunch later on in the day.

Trump has less memory about what people have done for him than Krusty the Klown. Let alone his typical lack of care to show any loyalty to those that helped him.

My first suspicion was that the pro-war party had finally gotten to him. It's a bi-partisan party, and it control a significant portion of the permanent government bureaucracy. Still, that doesn't fit very well because he lasted 5 years resisting them. The last time a president significantly resisted the pro-war party was Kennedy. Maybe they said the same thing to him. I simply don't know.

A better question, imo, would be: Why are you and some of his other supporters just seeing this now? What changed for you?

1. Who are you talking to?
2. If he suddenly started acting different (even if is from bad to different bad) then of course anyone (not just a Trump supporter) would see now that he is acting different now.

You. I’m talking to you.

For me, the only ‘change’ in Trump is that he’s more out of control than before.

He’s always been a self absorbed egomaniac fake tough guy who equates throwing money around, reneging on promises and lying and cheating and making threats as ‘tough negotiations.’ The only reason there aren’t reports of him in physical fights ( except his physical abuse of Ivanna) is because he’s too big a chickenshit to actually throw a punch at someone who will punch back. Now he has a military and a Secretary of War who is stupider and more cowardly abd out of control than he is. During his first term, he had some people around him with some respect for rules who tried to keep the guardrails on. Now he just has a cadre of sycophants who are as stupid as dbloodthirsty and attention whoring as he is. It was inevitable that he’d try to pick a fight. He’s so insecure he keeps starting fights then renegotiating to get the same deal already in place that was negotiated peacefully and without drama by a predecessor. He’s like a dog who has to piss wherever another dog has pissed—except dogs are nicer, smarter and have loyalty.

It just flummoxes me that so many people failed to notice this about him.

He’s an out of control bully who believes he can just take whatever he wants because he wants it. That’s how he’s behaved in business, towards women and children, towards contractors he’s hired. He’s a spoiled little rich boy who doesn’t believe other people matter. Remember Leona Helmsley? Who famously says taxes are fir the little people? Trump is just an exaggerated version of her. He doesn’t believe rules apply to him, just to everybody else.

Seriously: what changed for you?

Then why did you include me with Trump supporters?

The part in the quote above plus much of your posting history.

Genuinely, whether or not you support or did support Trump in the past, you seem to think he’s changed. Why? What has, in your opinion, changed?

Probably the Iran war.

Though I'm not sure why the Iraq war didn't do it, or the fact that we've been pointing out since he blamed Biden for planning on starting a war in Iran to secure election victories, that this was coming from Trump.

Its kind of (un)surprising that he's shooting his Iran wad early, in a midterm election, however.
