Well, it's that time of year again when Christians inform us that if we do anything to try and make Jews feel included at this time of year, then failing to be jerks to Jews counts as persecuting Christians.

Because it's not enough for Christians to be jerks to religious minorities. Everyone else has to also be jerks to minorities on behalf of Christians, and if we don't do that, then we are "persecuting" Christians. I guess Christians can't be Christian unless all of society is re-fashioned to punish people for being part of the wrong religion.

Anyway, the latest crying from the snowflakes on the right is people making perfectly obvious and valid observations about some of the Christmas shows we watch every year.

Because if you point out that treating women like they are less is a bad thing, that counts as "persecuting" men. And Christians. And fascists in general.

PS[ent]mdash[/ent]I sincerely apologize for suggesting that there is anything wrong with thinking of women as less than men. Further, I deeply and sincerely apologize for suggesting that there is anything wrong with fascists. I hope I didn't hurt the feelings of any conservatives or libertarians by saying such shocking and politically incorrect things. Please forgive me. I only do these things because I am an evil Social Justice Warrior who is jealous of your superior white intellect.

That's pretty much social dominance ideology in a nutshell.

Actually, anti-social.

Sorry, but where is there anything about Hanukkah in this OP other than the tital?

PS—I sincerely apologize for...
For a pointless and vague rant?
For click bait?
For failing to understand that the moral of the Rudolph story/song is bullying and shunning are wrong?

Oooh, you're so close to getting it! Quick, use your superior whiteness powers to make yourself smart enough to get it. The whiteness powers work by clenching your buttcheeks, I think. At least, I always assumed that's how the superior whiteness powers work because it would explain why white people walk like that.

Do you really need that explained?

Every year, the Christians get offended at people who say "happy holidays" instead of "merry Christmas."

If you are confused, then you don't understand why people say happy holidays instead of merry Christmas.

You see, Christians aren't the only ones who have a holiday around wintertime. We say happy holidays so that those other groups don't feel excluded. While I really am trying to be inclusive for anyone else who has a holiday at this time, it's mostly about the Jews. Anyone who has ever had Jewish friends has heard stories about feeling lonely and excluded at winter because everyone else was celebrating Christmas.

The other religious groups also matter. I'm not saying they don't matter, but it's mostly about the Jews because of the different religions that have winter holidays, they are the most numerous non-Christian group that has a winter holiday.

You know what? It's not really about the Jews. It's mostly about Jewish children, since the stories my Jewish friends told me were always about feeling kind of depressed and excluded as children. It's still wrong to make Jews feel excluded, but children more emotionally vulnerable, so it's mostly them that I am worried about.

But if I try to make Jews and especially Jewish children feel included at this time of year by simply using the phrase "happy holidays" instead of "marry Christmas," most of the Christians around me become enraged and angrily demand that I stop saying happy holidays because not hurting Jews apparently counts as hurting Christians.

It's not enough that Christians want to make Jews and especially Jewish children feel excluded at this time of year, they demand that everyone work to make Jews feel excluded at this time of year, and if we don't participate in being jerks to Jews, the Christians angrily accuse us of "persecuting" Christians.

Think about that for a moment. Not being mean to Jews counts as "persecuting" Christians in the eyes of most Christians. Stop and think about what that implies about Christians, Christian morals and the Christian sense of childish entitlement.

Are you saying that you're not inherently superior because you were born white? Gasp! You're one of those rare liberal Christians I heard so much about, aren't you?

...It's mostly about Jewish children, since the stories my Jewish friends told me were always about feeling kind of depressed and excluded as children....

I grew up surrounded by Jews.

Almost all my friends were Jewish.

They never once gave two shits about any crazy Christian nonsense.

Sounds like your friends were not isolated jews in a sea of christians. And so naturally they would not have felt left out if almost all of the gang was jewish. Sunds like Underseers friends had a different jewish prespective.

bullying and shunning are wrong?

Coming from the guy who only a few days ago called atheists pathetic for celebrating Thanksgiving. You lack any sense of self-awareness.

So all of the Jews who told me about feeling excluded at Christmas when they were children were wrong?

Or are you accusing them of lying?

Either answer won't look very good for you, but I'm still curious.

He's using Christian morals.

So it's good when Christians bully other people into being jerks to Jewish children, but bad when atheists bully Christians by refusing to bully Jewish children. That makes atheists the real bullies, see?

They were excluded because they chose their religion over being included.

There is no way to look at someone and know they are not a Christian.

If you want to be included in fantasy thinking just lie and say you also believe the fantasies.

The moral of the Rudolf story is that you can only get away with being different if you are useful to those who despise you for being different. And that you should crave their approbation so much that you instantly forgive them, once they decide that you are valuable to them.
