Weekly Standard shutting down

But the company's other print magazine, the Washington Examiner will expand to a weekly publication. So there will still be bullshit from these jokers. The Weekly Standard was a Never Trump bird cage liner, which in the age of Trump didn't go over to well. Their new tripe will avoid that error of judgment.

Ding, dong, the witch is dead, the wicked witch is deaaaaaaad!

Gosh, we will now have one fewer voice spreading propaganda, lies and racism into the national discussion. How awful, and by awful, I mean wonderful.

Xir says, while linking to the Huffington Post.

How awful! Too bad he couldn't find any coverage on one of the Fake News sites of State TV. Maybe you can, since you seem to gorge yourself on their pap.

Regardless of their viewpoint, the Weekly Standard did show integrity by sticking by their views and standards instead of joining the Trumpian bandwagon.

I also wonder if the owners of the Weekly Standard could not find a buyer or if they just choose to close it down because of its editorial viewpoint.

Apparently they chose in the end to shut it down because if they sold it, it would have been a competitor to their new Washington Examiner weekly magazine. Any sale would have included a list of current subscribers. It was never a big money maker and was down to 77k subscribers and dropping.

The Weekly Standard was an infamous neoliberal and neoconservative publication. So their standards included diverting as much income away from the poor and the middle class to the already wealthy as possible and establishing hegemony over the greatest part of the world through the application of superior military power. I for one am not impressed with their standards. That they didn't go full fascism with Trump is little consolation to me.
