Saying a person is an ape is nothing more than a statement of fact. I'm an ape, so are you, we're not sure about Tom Sawyer though.

What is that pic from?Huh? I am not invalidating anybody's experience. But why should my experience be invalidated? When a white person and black person have a different opinion about race and racial relations, why is the black person's experience automatically assumed to be the correct one? Why are white people accused of racism whenever we have an opinion of race that in any way deviates from self-flaggelation?

I refuse to self-flagellate myself for something done centuries ago by people who kinda-sorta looked like me. Such collective assigning of guilt based solely on skin color is the very root of racism, not an antidote.

But she didn't say that "people of that race" are anything. She referred to an individual, like when people compared Bush or Trump to an ape. Thus, to her and her fellow Trump fans, pointing out that a person is an "ape" is intended a racist insult implying that, like apes, people of that race are lower and inferior. The fact that she unwittingly used a scientific fact as part of her intended insult, just means she is a moron in addition to being a racist (which most racists are).
Aren't both of these female apes fond of high heels?Such as the woman who looked forward to Melania being in the WH, rather than 'that ape in high heels.'
Careful. Iranians tend to be touchy when mistaken for Arabs.just Arabs. Then, oops, I meant Iranians.
It's not that it wasn't meant to be an insult, it's that it wasn't necessarily meant as an racial insult. Now, it's saying someone looks like they're an ape in Planet of the Apes isn't an insult because humans are apes, too,
It's not that it wasn't meant to be an insult, it's that it wasn't necessarily meant as an racial insult.
Now, I am aware of the history. But, we will never move past that history as long as we are perpetuating it.

No, what you want is for people to forget history to remove all context.
So the Rosanne show will be rebooted as The Connors. Roseanne is now dead as far as TV is concerned.

We don't know yet how they will deal with the corpse. John Goodman was actually killed off once. In her case, they could just use a mannequin that talks or some such thing.
Get Alec Baldwin on the pilot. That's also a good idea for a spin-off: a racist mannequin that doesn't die.
