Pompeo is a pro war Trump sycophant. Tillerson frequently disagreed with Trump. Trump lied when he said he liked conflict and different opinions in the WH. He only likes people that kiss his ass, so he wants an extreme partisan who will do his bidding. Does anyone else here share my concern that Trump and Pompeo are itching to start another war?

Oh, I think Trump thrives on conflict and chaos because it keeps other people guessing and jockeying for his favor.

He likes to exploit any exposed weaknesses and to identify and monetize any possible strengths, turning them into weaknesses.

He's a horrible excuse for a human being.

It'd almost be brilliant if it were all in the pursuit of a specific goal. Imagine if Trump had discipline and the ability to set and pursue specific goals...

He's got Putin for that.

Tillerson messed up by saying Russia killed that spy in Britain.

Steve Goldstein, the State Dept. official who said Tillerson found out he was fired from a tweet, is out now.

Does Tillierson being fired improve his chances of being called in to be question by Mueller?

If I were Rex, I'd not say too much until if/when he is called in for questions. This would cut down on the appearances of "Sour Grapes"

Hitler did that, to keep any single person from accruing too much power.

I really think Trump does it because he can't remember what was agreed to four meetings ago. So his lack of continuity appears to be a chaotic 'style,' not just blind coping.
If everyone's guessing and scrambling, they don't have the leisure to compare notes and say 'What the fuck? We SETTLED this question in January!"

Between Rex Tillerson and the House ending its investigation, I would be less than surprised if Mueller makes a rather large announcement of his own shortly. The distraction machine is running full steam now.

Mueller passing by reporter: "Oh... FYI, I have 'the tape'."

Goodness, can't even keep up with them all today! Did someone forget to make sure 45 understands he isn't still on his old show? If he thinks he's supposed to whittle them down to just one remaining contestant by the end of the season, his actions would make a certain amount of sense.

Not easily kept up with is the large numbers of career government officials who have left. About half the State Department jobs are now unfilled for example. Large numbers of capable people are leaving government now, retiring early, or giving up and moving to non-governmental jobs. A serious brain drain. And there doesn't seem to be any real effort to recruit replacements. Not even with mindless tea party droolers.

Rex Tillerson is out, to be replaced by Mike Pompeo.

AND Tillerson's State Department Under Secretary, Steve Goldstein, too apparently.

Twitter rumour says Trump was pissed that Tillerson and his staff spoke out against Putin poisoning people in the UK
