I can't help but think this is it for the GOP nominee. Even if Trump dropped out, folks would have to know the Trump selection on the ballot would be for another nominee. But what of the votes already cast? Can they automatically be designated to the new nominee? I guess. I hope Trump hangs on to the bitter end. Hillary is too weak a candidate to stand up to anyone but a Trump like character.

It might be in Hillary's best interest to forgo the town hall debate. With Potty Mouth's reference to Bill and Hillary in his sincere apology, she would be justified in not appearing on stage with him.

I'd like to be excused from the notion that 'all men are like this'. In an originally puritan and very competitive society like the US, where other people are seen as a means to gratify the (alleged) 'Self', many males talk in this silly and disgusting way, but only a minority, even there, behave like drugged pigs, and elsewhere people are different, though their notions are often equally absurd. According to the story, Jill Harth was with her longtime boyfriend, who was doing a deal for a business partnership, when she was invited to join the two for dinner. Hard to say, as it will take a few days to see how this plays out, but it's looking like a very real possibility. He's already lost some endorsements, Hillary is going to fucking hammer him over this during the debate (if he even shows) and the media is not going to let it go a month out from the ballots. I really think this could do him in.

And though it's not media per se, it's worth noting that over in the "AskTrumpSupporters" subreddit - which has been an analytic goldmine for psychologists who want to understand how extreme cognitive dissonance and self-delusion work - they've crossed a threshold. Many of his supporters there, who have thus far rationalized everything he's done away, are saying that this is just too much and he's basically finished.

But honestly, this election has been so fucking far beyond the pale that I wouldn't bet on anything playing out the way it would in a normal election cycle.

Per RNC rules, they can not remove him as their nominee, but they are discussing what to do if he voluntarily steps down. Does anyone actually believe that this man would voluntarily step down? What aspect of his personality would make anyone think this is even a possibility? The only way I can see this happening is if someone somewhere has something so bad on Trump that even he doesn't want it made public.

I feel bad for Melania Trump. I'm sure she knew what a vile person she was marrying, but she had no control over him running for office. This has got to be humiliating for her.

What is going to happen to Trump's empire now? All he has been riding on for years is his name - licensing it to other people's projects. Who is going to do business with him now?

Ya, a large part of his supporters aren't going to care. However, Trump's supporters aren't enough to win the election. He needs his supporters plus at least five or six percent more of the country. This is devastating to that. He can't grow his numbers into that segment of society with stuff like this dominating the headlines.

Also, he needs left wingers to be more ambivalent about Clinton than they are disgusted about him. Tapes like this (and the other ones coming out at least once a week until the election) ramp up the disgust against him and motivate votes against him.

Also, the Dems are tying the down ballot candidates to him. They're starting to make very good points that there's nothing in this tape that everyone didn't already know about the man, so why haven't the GOP candidates disavowed him before this or are only ambivalent about doing it now?

2) It's not like the Republican base has lacked for moral reasons to be repulsed by the Orange Skidmark. He has advocated specific war crimes, made comments that their own Speaker of the House has called "textbook examples" of racism. So fuck them. I hope Trump continues to damage their movement. Raise up a base that is basically a mob that cannot process reality, and you have...the GOP.
3) In a sense, his campaign is right -- it was locker room talk, which is to say, crude, boastful, based on one-upping the other guys, as in 'grab 'em by the pussy.' Trump on torture is the real deal, for me. Chilling. This video is just pathetic. Here he is, age 58? 59? trying to impress a younger, flashier media guy with his Trump machismo and (gag, vomited-a-little) way with the ladies.
4) He started his coast to coast tour of Birther Lies some 5 years ago. Who did not know he was an irresponsible con man with a coarse, ignorant mind?
