Everybody knows that men have a sweet spot for women cooking in the nude with only a full apron and butt exposed. In fact I am upset I can't find more videos of Jenny Scordamaglia doing that.
 
the issue here is the presumption of some kind of institutional sexism, when this is simply a facet of if the difference between men and women.
while this is largely anecdotal, there are two characteristics of males and females that i have noticed during the course of my life:
1. men and women both enjoy looking at body parts of their preferred gender, but only men enjoy looking at body parts of their preferred gender all the time and in every context. yes, a woman can dig looking at a man's ass in the right situation, but when it's life-or-death or other extreme circumstances, women generally switch that off in their brain. men do not.
2. women tend to not have their sexual identity and gender identity threatened by the existence of another female's body parts - a woman is capable of looking at another woman's body and not having a socially programmed compulsion to get freaked out by it, whereas by and large men are culturally required to get weirded out by the mere existence of another man's sexual anatomy (be it primary or secondary)

so, bottom line: men like hot video game chicks, women don't give a shit about hot video game men, and men are threatened by hot video game men = you get hot video game women, and not so much hot video game men.
 
Get back to me when it's scientifically demonstrated that this sexualization of video game characters is psychologically harmful. Otherwise all you have is speculation.

Anyone who thinks they aren't getting enough male butt in their viewing diet should go rent an old Steve Reeves Hercules movie.

So to be clear, the solution here is not to simply show more butts of male characters. Equal opportunity butt display is definitely not the answer. Rather, the solution is to deemphasize the rear ends of female characters, so that players are encouraged not to ogle and objectify these women, but to identify and empathize with them as people. This is not an impossible task given that game designers do this all the time with their male characters. It’s time they started consistently doing it with their female characters, too.

She wants a solution to the problem of the objectification of women, and proposes less exposure of women's asses in video games. What is really needed to end this problem is girlfriends. If Sarkeesian really wants to solve this problem, she should look in the ranks of feminists who want a boyfriend and set up a dating service, targeted at gamers. Once these guys have a chance to see a real woman's ass, up close and personal, the sale of Princess Leia costumes may go up, but as long as everyone is getting laid, who cares.

If this strategy were employed, we could see a drastic upsurge in Sailor Moon costume sales and a plunge in support for Donald Trump.

Hey, just because they're only video game characters doesn't mean that they don't have thoughts and feelings. Just today, I paused in the middle of my Mortal Kombat fight and said, "You know, Scorpion, I've always just seen you as a nightmarish creature of vengeance who's only bent on the destruction of those who've wronged you. I haven't ever taken the time to really get to know you and find out why your pain makes you lash out in this way".

Sure, immediately after that, I stabbed my knives into his temples, ripped his head off and ate his face, but I made the attempt. That'd really all any of us can do.
 
And none of you seems to get the real problem: that the games are made for men.

Well, let's be honest, major game publishers have been hugely fucking up for years now, just openly making one incredibly bad decision after the next. I'm more concerned with that, than in their artists mimicking real-life fashion trends.

Seriously, take a look at most women's' jackets some time. A remarkable number of them seem to be designed to expose the butt.

I don't think that there's a problem with the games. I think Anita, and others like her, are the problem. There are plenty of games out there to appeal to many tastes, I don't think the games that don't suit her tastes should change to appease her.

She, and Jonathan McIntosh complain about the weapons that can be crafted in Fallout 4, but ignores that you can craft whole settlements in the game. Crafting in FO3 was sparse (a few weapons), Fallout New Vegas was better cooking, ammo, weapons, and recycling). FO4 took some of the expanded crafting mods for FONV and went over the top. In FO4 every piece of junk in the game can be used in some manner to craft other items.

Building 24 minutes in. Settlement building was shown first, then weapons, then armor.

She even complains that in dishonored 2 you can play as a character of either sex, saying that the game should have gone with a female protagonist as your only choice.

Hmm, post Nuclear Apocalypse nuclear wasteland and no violence? Seriously. Three Dog in Fallout 3 described raiders rather well. In Fallout New Vegas they behaved the same way. In Fallout 4 they're still psychopaths, but now they have better AI and know how to take cover.



Major Dhatri described the Fiends in New Vegas well. They're one of the bands of raiders in the game. Jackals and Vipers are the other two of note.



You can take companions on that quest and still succeed. Don't bring ED-E since he can only use energy weapons which might disintegrate your target. Veronica is okay if you give her some good armor and tell her to use her Power Fist. Her tagged skills are unarmed, science, and energy weapons. Rose of Sharon Cassidy is also a good choice since she's good with pistols, rifles, and shotguns. Set your companions to passive so that they generally won't attack before you do.
 
She's complaining that a war game is violent? I look forward to her next video about how Forza Racing has too many people driving over the speed limit.
 
I don't think she's stupid now. She's clearly a real life troll.
