George Zimmerman Arrested On Domestic Violence And Weapons Charge

Or we have. Someone who sees suspicious behavior and calls 311 to report and watches the person to see if it was normal behavior or not. The person takes off running suspiciously and he checks to see which way he goes. Martin gets pissed for being watched and cold cocks the guy and finds out not good to start a fight with a guy with a gun.
Right, because as pointed out several times there is no evidence that it went down this way.

The issue is that the evidence does point that way. It's the supposition on the other side that it was the opposite and hence why the jury came to the conclusion they did.

And now that he's gotten away with it, he seems to have no trouble throwing his weight around and intimidating others.

That's a huge gamble for Zimmerman to think...Hey let me get into a situation where I can kill this kid and just hope that I get the right jury so I can do it even though it would make life a whole lot harder.
The evidence is clear on this issue: Zimmerman does not think.

No it doesn't. And it is not why they jury came to the conclusion it did. I wrote very carefully based on what we know. You threw in a lot of speculation and concluded Martin started the fight. The jury did not determine who started the fight, but could not convict based on reasonable doubt.

He's playing with fire though. We'll see where this case goes.

Yes, like OJ he's earned a reputation.

That's what is comes down to. Martin was essentially minding his own business when a strange man who was convinced he was a criminal began stalking him. But don't tell that to his detractors. To them he was obviously a criminal; to some a master criminal with military thug training.

I like that narrative. Lets shift it.

Martin gets pissed for being watched and cold cocks the guy and Zimmerman finds out not good to follow someone you think is a criminal.

But for the new case. What is the current status? It's a domestic abuse case so the prosecution will decide whether or not to bring charges based on any evidence they have.
Yup. May not have enough evidence so Charlie Brown can walk away again. Good grief.

That's a huge gamble for Zimmerman to think...Hey let me get into a situation where I can kill this kid and just hope that I get the right jury so I can do it even though it would make life a whole lot harder.

I agree. But not against the law to be stupid. They had a better civil case than criminal case.

When it leads to someone's death, it can be called manslaughter or reckless endangerment.
They had a better civil case than criminal case.
That is true, but that was a luck of the draw for Zimmerman. Being the only person to witness most of the events was a major element in his favor.

My theory is a little more nuanced I hope.

My main point is that the killer police situation was not widely accepted until late last year.

This goes a long way to understand Z's behavior. In any case, this really weakens the evil T scenarios.

I don't think so. He was lucky and the trial could have gone either way. It was a huge gamble for him to take if he made an active decision going into the situation that he thought he could shoot Martin. What would have happened if Martin just said, "Okay, let's wait for the cops"

Your inability to understand my simple point makes me wonder about the quality of all your postings. I'm simply making the obvious suggestion that Z thought he was a cop.

I agree with you in part, but disagree in another part. I disagree with you that he thought he could get away with the shooting of a guy because of cop mentality. He had a go above and beyond a normal citizens thought process when reporting and following Martin. I don't think anyone is a quick enough thinker and has the thought process of, he let's provoke this guy into punching me and hitting me while he's on top so I can shoot him.

I don't know about everyone else but I've learned from the zimmerman and wilson cases that it's in my best interests not to leave the other guy alive to tell his side of the story

So no murder cases have had people convicted?

You also forgot that lady in Florida who didn't kill the ex/husband and she did get into trouble.

hahaha

And if he's black, the cops don't care.

Bingo.

Had he been white, and Zimmerman black, immediate arrest, no question. But instead, the police chief runs out and says that he's sure Trayvon regrets what he did. And that's what was really offensive.

And hey, wow, since his chasing down and shooting an teen for "walking around, looking about", he's been in several cases of domestic assault. Imagine that!

And solid evidence it didn't.
